These tropical house geckos appeared a few months ago and slowly increased from one to five, from cowering in a corner of my patio to patrolling all three sides. They're strangely endearing.

Two tree frogs showed up last week. A deer and fawn also appear intermittently now. Lately a racoon scurries over from the nearby forest, surveys my yard a bit, then scurries back. A squirrel and robin trigger my back door camera at times, too. Bees and hornets inspect the camera apertures, expecting a flower I suppose.

I never lived around this much wildlife. Two lizards were fucking on my workstation window last month. Really? You'd think they'd find a horizontal place somewhere but maybe they felt safer clinging to my window screen.

Sunday night I met my first "Broward", he heard the bartender speak my name, etc. A middle name like mine originally but almost certainly a relative. His grandfather was influential, within the State, decades ago. I have a couple hundred unknown relatives in southern Florida, my father moved to L.A. in the early 1950s. He's in a national cemetary in New Mexico now.
